Amazon Makes Big AI Play
The last couple of weeks we eyed some pretty powerful announcements that will force 2025 to be a year of exponential AI abilities. All come to us courtesy of Amazon. It will be really interesting to see how this new landscape exponentially evolves media measurement next year.
- Powerful computing power depends on chips. Nvidia, with chips made in Taiwan, has pretty much held the monopoly on computing power. Amazon has developed “Trainium” chips made in Austin, Texas. The recently released V2 results? 4x performance gains at 50% lower costs. And the next generation is already in development.

- Amazon announced “Project Rainier,” the world’s largest distributed super computer made up of hundreds of thousands of Trainium super chips – scattered over divergent locations for scale. Project Rainier promises a cost-effective options for companies seeking AI infrastructure.

- Amazon added another $4 billion to Anthropic, a chatbot and AI platform competing with OpenAI. All this essentially closes the loop on AI companies leveraging Amazon products. Some in the industry are calling it the “kill shot.”
